Blaming the Oil Companies for High Oil Prices is Silly
ReputationProfessor-Com Complaints is Silly By Lance Winslow.
Are you one who complains that the oil companies are making too much money? Well, blaming the Oil Companies for high Oil Prices is silly; let me tell you why. If you will read Ayn Rand you will see what happens when you attack the people trying to provide civilization with what they desire. If you do not like oil companies, well then do not buy their oil.
Had we as a nation disallowed the 1000’s lawsuits and attacks on the EIRs (environmental impact reports) to build new refineries, exploration, drilling, pipelines, etc. we would have all the oil we need in this present period. But now we are competing on the world market for oil, while failing to get ours here at home, where we have plenty. Why; because we would not stop attacking the Oil Companies, as they attempted to upgrade their infrastructure needs. The socialists of America have their selves to blame. “And you deserve it.”
Prices in free markets rise and fall based on supply and demand. If you feel they are manipulating said supply, then simply do not buy; your choice. The public can play with the demand side; you have your lever, use it; or be quiet, after all who caused this in the first place?
Blame the lawyers, environmentalists and growth of India and China and the Weather. Do not blame Bush, which seems to be so popular these days. One might ask the liberals if John Kerry could have gotten rid of continental drift by raising our taxes right? Didn’t he promise that, well no matter, he made so many promises who can remember anyway?
What is the matter with those who attack the oil companies; don’t any of them have Oil Stocks in their 401Ks? And for the liberals may I remind you that you just got your tax increase due to the windfall from higher oil taxes, just like you wanted.
